Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after that period of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
